Who is AMVIC?
AMVIC is Alberta’s automotive industry regulator and a public agency. Our top priority is to protect consumers from unfair business practices.
AMVIC is responsible for maintaining a mandatory licensing program for automotive businesses and a registration program for automotive business salespeople; educating the industry on regulatory compliance; informing consumers of their rights; and enforcing consumer protection laws.
AMVIC’s funding comes from licensing and registration fees, education fees, and a $6.25 levy per vehicle that is sold or leased in Alberta.
