What to do if your vehicle will not start.

What should you do if your vehicle will not start?

If your vehicle won't start, there are a few steps you can take to try and diagnose and fix the issue:

Check the battery: A dead battery is a common cause of a car not starting. Check to see if your lights, radio, or other electrical components are functioning properly. If not, it may be a sign that the battery is dead or dying. If the battery is the issue, you may need to jump-start the car or replace the battery altogether.

Check the starter: If the battery is functioning properly, the next thing to check is the starter. When you turn the key in the ignition, do you hear a clicking sound? If so, it may be an indication that the starter is not working correctly. You may need to have the starter replaced.

Check the fuel system: Another reason your car may not be starting is due to a problem with the fuel system. Check to see if you have enough gas in the tank. If the tank is full, it may be a problem with the fuel pump, fuel filter, or fuel injectors. These are all components of the fuel system that can cause issues.

Check the ignition system: A malfunctioning ignition system can also prevent your car from starting. The ignition system includes the spark plugs, ignition coil, and distributor. If any of these components are faulty, it can cause issues with starting the car.

If you are not comfortable diagnosing and fixing the issue yourself, it may be best to have your car towed to our shop and have one of our professional mechanics do an inspection and repair it.
